About This Game
Brick Sort takes the classic sorting puzzle and rebuilds it out of toy construction bricks. It shares its hundred-level ladder with Color Ball Sort and Nut Sort, so the difficulty curve is measured rather than guessed: every board is dealt offline, solved, and rated before it ships, which is what makes each level's par mean something. The later acts hide everything below the top brick of each stack, turning a planning puzzle into a memory one.
The Science Behind It
Sorting puzzles engage the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, the region behind planning and sequential organization. Brick Sort adds a second load on top: once the stacks are fogged, holding the buried colors in mind while planning several moves ahead recruits visuospatial working memory, and the memory check on undo discourages the trial-and-error strategy that would otherwise bypass both.
